At the request of Maldives Police Service , India has sent a forensic team to Maldives. The 3-member team arrived tonight and would be working closely with the Maldives Police. They would be staying In Male extending all the required technical assistance in the investigation into the blast.
India has been providing similar assistance to Maldives police service in the past as well. A forensic lab (FSL) was set-up in Maldives under the India-Maldives bilateral assistance program. India also supplied the forensic equipments for the FSL in 2011.
