Majeedhiyyaa School Principal Abdullah Rasheedh has stated that the focus of the school will be educate students on their levels and make them into productive members of the society.
He made the statement speaking in the prize day ceremony of the school for last year.
Rasheedh stated that even though the formal education system has been in the country for years, up until 2013, the system had been operating on a traditional system. He said that the education system has been functioning on the basis that every student has to be a high achiever academically. He also said that if the student is not academically gifted, then more often than not the student is exempt from opportunity.
Rasheedh added that with the change in leadership in 2013, the education sector had undergone rapid shifts, with the traditional thinking being shelved for a different approach. He also added that the policy of non-exclusion had been set as a policy but thoroughly ignored up until 2013.
Rasheed noted that intellectual and administrative work are key tenets of development, but cannot be substituted for hard work and innovation, citing Bill Gates as an example.
He added that the Government proposed programs such as Btech and Dhasvaaru will train more students in vocational programs. Rasheed stated that the two programs were currently run in the school with successful results.
