Ahmadhiyya International School Principal Mohamed Rasheed has stated that the biggest issue facing the school was the issue of space.
Speaking in the prize day ceremony of the school for last year, Rasheed said that last year 2,597 students had studied in the school. He added that the number of students wishing to enroll in the school is large and that there was currently a long waiting list for the school.
Rasheed said that the school did not have a resource issue but the issue of space was an acute and a pressing issue.
He stated that Ahmadiyyaa had won top accolades in the O-level exams in the past 10 years and said that this year the aim was to secure this win 11th year running. Rasheed also added that the school is aiming to win in A-level exams, as well.
The school has consistently performed well both in academics and in sports. The School was upgraded to international status early this year, by President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom. He had been serving the school since 2000. Speaking in the ceremony, President Yameen had assured that he will seek out a solution for the issue.
