Public Service Media (PSM) Managing Director Ibrahim Khaleel has appealed all to see the nation as a “mother”.
He issued the appeal in delivering the keynote address at the prize day ceremony of Dharumavantha School for 2014.
Khaleel said that every student is a student who loved and respected their mothers and stated that the same principles should apply to the nation as well. He added that this aspect was vital for the development of the nation.
Khaleel appealed to the Ministry of Education to instill nationalism and nationalistic pride in every student, calling for a “nationalistic software”. He added that nationalism had to be instilled from childhood. He said that complaining that the youth was not nationalistic afterwards was extremely pointless.
He said that PSM was broadcasting the prize days of various schools as it was the responsibility of the channel to do so. Khaleel also announced that PSM’s educational channel will be launched next year and will be focused on providing all inclusive educational opportunities. He also said that the channel will host programs that will enable individuals to complete their basic and higher education and those participants will be awarded certificates as well.
He also said that opportunity will opportunity will be opened for media clubs of schools to host tv programs.
