Kaashidhoo MP Faisal Naseem has stated that an unjust punishment is a grave miscarriage of justice and paying or attempting to pay damages for such acts cannot undo the injustice that had occurred.
“If anyone is subject to unjust punishment, we cannot undo that injustice. We cannot claim damages for that. Therefore, we cannot enact such injustice,” he said.
Faisal said that national reconciliation were vital and that any injustice to anyone was therefore not permissible. He called on the Government to desist any actions that may encroach rights.
He also called on all not to offer any room for foreign intervention in domestic affairs. Faisal said that foreign nations and bodies had the authority to issue dictates against the government, only because they have been given the opportunity to do so.
“We are reliant on the international community. In every disaster, the international community has lent us a gracious helping hand, such as india, china and other nations. Therefore, we cannot exist in isolation, as we are a small nation. Therefore, we have to listen to their sentiments. We have to guide our actions in the Islamic measures. This will act as a barrier against those who seek to undermine us by issuing various messages,” he said.
