Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee has stated that MTCC is a vital partner in national development and currently working with the Government to implement many development projects across the country.
He made the statement in the ceremony held in National Art Gallery to introduce the new 60 horsepower Yanmar engines to Maldives.
Dr. Shainee said that looking back a few months, MTCC was generally running on losses but had managed to completely change the situation and is now running on profits. He attributed the success to the strong changed President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom instated to the company.
Dr. Shainee said that the President’s Office’s Economic Committee was carefully observing the operations of sate run corporations and assured that the Committee will seek to resolve any issues such corporations faced. He added that Ministers have been appointed to oversee the operations of the companies.
Dr. Shainee noted and commended MTCC for their hard work, team work, their successes and their partnership with Yanmar.
