Kudahuvadhoo Constituency MP Ahmed Amir has stated that amendments need to be made to the constitution to recover finances owed to nation.
Amir said that there was a certain group of individuals who profit from the amounts that have to be initially supposed to be paid to the state. He added that there were more of such individuals who routinely appeared on political platforms, directly engaging in defaming the nation.
He said that amendments need to be made to the constitution to gain back the amounts owed to the nation. Amir said that priority should be given to those who had cheated significant amounts from the state. Amir cited the reports issued by the Auditor General which has shown that there were billions that was owed to the Government.
Amir appealed all to stakeholder institutions to work on the issue.
