Health Minister Irthisham Adam has stated that President Abdullah Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim were saved from the explosion on the speedboat only by the grace of God.
She made the statement speaking in the SunTV 50 minutes program Friday night.
Irthisham noted that the security aboard the speedboat was not up to par and said that this needed to be fully investigated. She added that such attacks was an attack on national security and therefore measures have to be enacted to ensure that such attacks did not occur in the future.
She said that this was the most serious attack in the history of the nation and should not be easily shrugged off. Minister Irthisham said that this attack should be fully investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice.
