Chinese Ambassador for the Maldives, Mr Wan Fu Kan has said that it is important to have teachers and doctors from Maldives in order for the country to grow.
He said that both fields are fundamentally important to a country’s growth and this will be done best if Maldivians are working in those fields.
He highlighted that the projects under the chinese government such as the Laamu atoll roads and the Hulhumale’ flats are going on up to speed. Moreover, he said that the Hulhumale’ phase 2 preparations were ongoing as well.
Regarding the Hulhumale’- Male’ bridge, he said that right now they were searching for a party who could take on the project and that he was hopeful that it would be started coming December. He also said that they were working on the project of the second runway of the airport.
The ambassador reassured that the China will always be helpful in the development of Maldives.
