No-Confidence vote against VP Imminent
The PPM coalition is in the process of collecting signatures to submit the no-confidence vote of the Vice President of Maldives, Mr. Ahmed Adeeb, who is being held under investigated for blowing up a bomb in the official presidential launch.

According to a PPM coalition member, the decision to submit for no-confidence was made on Monday, in a meeting of the MPs of the ruling PPM-MDA coalition. Most of the members of the coalition have signed the motion to be passed to the Majlis, yet some differ, including the MP for Thimarafushi constituency Mr. Mohamed Musthafa, who are still refusing to sign this motion. Some of the local media have reported that Mr. Musthafa has been removed from the viber group of the party due to his refusal to sign this. We were unable to confirm this as he wasn’t able to answer our phone calls.

In the recent speech by President Yaameen regarding the bombing of the presidential launch, he mentioned that some MP’s told him that VP Adeeb had also planned to oust him through a no-confidence vote with the help of the opposition MDP, as well as some from his own party.

Due to this the President believes that VP Adeeb‘s work was not continuing in alignment with that of his government.
