The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon has sent a message of condolence to H.E. Mr. Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan following the earthquake that struck Afghanistan today.
The Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It was with deep shock and sadness that I learnt about the powerful earthquake that struck North Eastern Afghanistan today, causing the loss of many lives and injury to many more, including children.
At this time of tragedy, on behalf of the Government and people of Maldives, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Government and people of Afghanistan.
Please also convey my sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families. I pray that the victims and their families are given strength during this difficult time.
