Prosecutor General Muthaz Muhsin has been removed from his position following allegations of drug usage and various other allegations.
Fifty seven MPs of the Parliament voted to remove him from his position. There were no votes against the motion or undecided. The motion was tabled and debated in a late night session of the Parliament.
Many have stated that Muhthaz had close connections to the now incarcerated former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb.
