Those who call for boycotts do not have to be paid by the state: Siyam
MDA leader and MP for Meedhoo Constituency, Ahmed Siyam has stated that as the opposition MDP is active in calling for boycott of tourism sector, the biggest revenue earning sector for the nation, they should not be paid by the state.

Speaking on the proposed state budget for next year, Siyam said that as a direct result of MDP calling for boycotts, many loans and aids for the nation had been halted. He described these actions as anti-patriotic, stating that there was nothing the Government should do for such people.

Siyam said that it is imperative that we reflect on the extent of damages on the economy, prior to pointing out what is not in the budget. He warned of public reprisal towards such calls for boycotts.
