In budget for next year, the biggest importance was given to the development of airport and the bridge.
The airport is used by 1.2 million people twice a year, most of them tourists. Even though there are no statistics available for bridge, we can anticipate that the majority of the 100,000 people living in Male’, residents of Hulhumale’ and the future settlers will use the bridge.
The funds for the two projects were allocated without any deductions in other areas. The two projects are funded by other sources and will not disrupt any of the other projects of the Government.
Based on current projections, the two projects are expected to contribute significant amounts of money to the nation’s coffers. As of now, the two projects are golden tickets for the nation’s development.
