Attorney General and Law and Gender Minister Mohamed Anil has said that the Government will seek to create an environment safe for children.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony to launch the sex offenders website held in the Ministry.
Anil said that the purpose of the website was not to defame an individual but to ensure that children are kept safe and secure and allowed to lead peaceful lives. He added that this was the practice world around as well.
He stated that the list was published so that the public and the employers can be aware of who known offenders were and as a deterrent for such crimes.
