Communications giant, Dhiraagu has called on all customers to report stolen SIM cards to customer service, in order to block the lost number.
Speaking in a press conference held yesterday in BML Lite, Manager of Marketing Communications and Public Relations, Mirshan Hassan stated that if in any event SIM cards are lost or stolen, customers should take care to report the theft and to block the number at the earliest possible time.
Mirshan stated that any stolen number that remains unblocked can be used by anyone for any number of purposes. He added that once that had occurred there were no actions the company can take.
Mirshan assured that Dhiraagu will not call their customers to request for their personal and credit card numbers. He urged customers to refrain from participating in such calls and requested to report such calls.
Mirshan stressed that public awareness and action were the only ways in which the spread of scams can be halted.
