President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has stated that business and commercial ties between SAARC member nations was essential in eliminating poverty in the region.
The President said this in his speech given in commemoration of ‘SAARC Charter Day’, marked yesterday.
President Yameen noted that member nations had to cooperate with each other to eliminate common issues such as poverty and that Maldives fully supported such an initiative.
He added that business and economic ties will boost bilateral relations, which in turn will create a better future for the region.
