Education Ministry has stated that a record high number of local teachers will be employed in the sector for 2016 academic year.
Speaking to press yesterday, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Dr. Abdul Muhsin said that priority was given to local teachers when hiring new teachers. He added that, therefore, the next year the number of expatriate teachers in the country will decrease.
Dr. Muhsin noted that all permanent teachers next year will have a diploma accreditation. He attributed this to the success of the program carried out to enhance the quality levels of teachers. The program was carried out in alliance with local universities.
Dr. Muhsin also said that the text books that needed to be imported, were on route to the country. He added that the required text books will be delivered to the schools ahead of schedule.
He also said that repair work on schools were on going.
