Vice Chancellor of the Maldives Islamic University Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has thanked Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Badr bin Ali Khaleel.
Dr. Shaheem made the statement in a tweet, citing the close relationship between the two nations and thanked the Saudi Ambassador for his initiative in the process.
The visiting Saudi Shura Council Speaker had donated US$ 1000 to the University.
The Saudi Islamic Ministry had also pledged assistance to the University during his trip to the country.
Saudi Arabia has been a key partner in the development of the Maldives.
