The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Indian Air Force Base in Pathankot, Punjab on 2 January 2016, that have caused loss of several defence personnel and injuring many more.
Terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, is a threat to peace, prosperity, democracy, and humanity, and needs to be defeated. The cowardly attack that took place in Pathankot will only strengthen our resolve to remain steadfast in our collective efforts to bring an end to this global scourge forever.
At this time of national distress, the Maldives extends its full support to India and conveys its profound sympathy to the Government and the people of India.
