MTCC to begin ferry services in new atolls
MTCC has revealed that the company will expand their ferry services into the atolls.

MTCC CEO Ibrahim Abdu Razzaq Haleem made the announcement in the ceremony held to mark the 35th anniversary of the company.

He said ferry services had been started for Laamu and Thaa Atolls as part of service expansion. Currently, the company runs ferry services for Male’ Atoll, Ari Atoll and Vaavu Atoll.

Ibrahim Abdu Razzaq Haleem added that the number of ferries and number of trips in between Male’ and Hulhumale have been increased to meet the demand.

“A double decker ferry and an additional ferry was introduced last year. Additionally, new buses were introduced between Hulhumale’ and the airport. These buses can carry additional luggage,” he said.

Ibrahim Abdu Razzaq Haleem noted that services of two new ferries will be introduced this January for the Hulhumale’- Male’ route.

“The ferries are high speed, air-conditioned ones. Additionally, new ferries will be introduced this year for Male’-Vilimale’ route,” he added.
