MIFCO CEO Adhlee Ismail has said that the company aims to increase the number of value added fish products within the first five years of President Abdullah Yameen’s term.
Speaking in the inauguration ceremony of the Addu City Hulhumeedho Fish Factory project on Friday night, Adhlee said the Government had always worked to give a fair price to the fishermen and that MIFCO had followed suit.
With the changes in the global market, the output of fish had also decreased by a third.
Therefore, it is vital that profits from the sector is maximized. This policy is already in place, with MIFCO introducing new value added products to the market. Additionally, MIFCO had introduced many schemes to assist fishermen.
