Maadhiggaru falhu agreement was nullified illegally: Civil Court
Civil Court has decreed that the nullification of the agreement for the lease of Maadhiggaru falhu area between the Tourism Ministry and Villa Holidays, was against the terms of the initial agreement.

The ruling issued by Civil Court on the 14th of this month stated that “The amended and restated lease agreement made between the Tourism Ministry on 12th December 2013 was nullified. The agreement was nullified over the lease of K. Maadhiggaru falhu and K. Kanuhura, as per the decision of the Tourism Ministry issued on 5th February 2015, by 306/2015PRV/LS-88. The Court decrees that the decision made by the Ministry was against the amended and restated lease agreement.”

Tourism Ministry in 2015 had nullified many agreements made with Villa Group, claiming millions as damages. Villa Group maintained that the Group had not gone against any of the agreements and did not have any amounts owed to the Government.
