Member of Parliament Ahmed Mahloof has revealed that he will press ahead with the criminal charges raised against him for allegedly obstructing Police duties.
He made the announcement meeting the press after the hearing at Criminal Court this morning.
It is unclear as to when the charges were raised or in connection to which events, but Mahloof had said that he believed that charges were raised against him in connection to the protests carried out against injustice.
Criminal Court had decreed that the hearings of the case will begin at 2pm on 11th February.
Mahloof said that he requested the government to provide him a lawyer when he was summoned to the Court, adding that huge expenses must be done on his part to procure a lawyer.
The charges were initially filed by Police to PG on 6th April 2015. At the time of the charges, Mahloof was under arrest for obstructing police duties. He was arrested on 25th March.
