Popular lawyer Maumoon Hameed has stated that the state prosecutors hamper justice and judicial justice system.
He made the statement in a tweet posted today.
Maumoon Hameed said that state lawyers were implicit in the wave of injustice spreading across the country, noting that “prosecutors play most critical role in enabling injustice: without them, the wheels of injustice cannot turn”.
He added that police sold Intel reports, MPs received bribes from MMPRC and that there were people who paid bribes to MMPRC.
Maumoon, part of the legal consul for former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim, has been severely critical of the verdict given to Sheikh Imran.
He had been summoned to Criminal Court today over his statements. After the session, he said that he had not acted in any manner or said that anything that had damaged the reputation of the Court.
