Saudi Arabia donates over 110,000 books to local schools
Saudi Arabian Government has donated over 110,000 books to local schools. The books were handed over in a ceremony held Wednesday morning in Education Ministry.

Speaking in today’s ceremony, Saudi Ambassador Badr Ali Al-Kahail said that his country was willing to lend assistance to the Maldivian education sector and other related sectors.

Education Minister Dr. AishathShiham highlighted that this was an important addition to the Government’s efforts to spread Islamic education in the country. She thanked the Saudi Government for their continued assistance in the education and development of the nation, especially noting the scholarships Saudi Government provided to the higher education sector.

Speaking to Miadhu, Saudi Deputy Ambassador TareqKhaddam Al-Fayez said that this donation was part of the Saudi Government’s endeavor to broaden Arabic and Islamic education in the Maldives. He assured that Saudi Arabia will continue to provide further assistance to the Maldives and the Maldivians, in various fields.

The tenures of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and President Abdullah Yameen has been remarked for close developing and strengthening relationships between the two nations. Over the past few years, Saudi assistance and aid has reached unprecedented levels.
