Former Islamic Minister and current Vice Chancellor of Maldives Islamic University Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that the enemies of Islam will never be content as long as Islamic values and principles are allowed to flourish.
In a tweet posted today, Dr. Shaheem said that such parties did not have concerns whether democracy was being practiced in Islamic nations, but rather the simple fact that Islam was the backbone of these nations. Therefore, he said that so long as Muslim nations practiced this, there would always be a clash.
Dr. Shaheem had previously spoke on the same lines, urging Muslims and Islamic nations to refrain from bowing down to such pressures especially at the expense of religious integrity.
