Sri Lanka’s Sierra Construction Pvt Ltd has said that the company will serve and assist Maldives in many other ways than the means set in the agreements.
The company made the statement, speaking after signing the agreement for the creation of clean water system in Haa Alif Dhihdhoo held Monday morning in Environment Ministry.
The company said that time periods for agreed projects are decided beforehand. However, if any additional service in relation to any project, the company will provide the assistance, adding that these services will be provided without burdening the budget of the ministry.
Sierra said that even though they were a Sri Lankan company, they had conducted many projects across many nations.
“We have been working in the Maldives for over 20 years, first as a subcontractor in the development of John Keels resorts and then in the Tsunami reconstruction,”
They said that with their effort, the company had been able to bring in additional investments to the country. Sierra noted that the company is currently conducting projects in seven islands in collaboration with Housing Ministry and MRDC.
