Took part in talks as reforms need to be undertaken: Qasim
Jumhooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim has said that he took part in the reconvened all-party talks as he believed that there were many reforms that need to be discussed on that has to be implemented on a national level.

Speaking to press after the first round of the all-party talks Qasim said that he had always insisted on discussions as it has been the prescribed route of action for Muslims.

He stressed that discussions were essential for the resolution of the issues facing former President Mohamed Nasheed and Sheikh Imran, both serving jail sentences. Qasim said that a solution for the issue can be found within these talks, urging both parties to join the discussions.

He added that every new day brings a fresh challenge that should be tackled with a fresh approach. Qasim further said that humans are by nature flawed and that if traits are noted then discussions were the recommended means to rectify the issue, and always within the legal means.

Qasim also said that when a Court made a ruling, that ruling must be respected and followed so long as an apex Court nullified the ruling. He added the ruling of a Court will never be to the liking of all, adding that a solution must be sought through the appeal process.
