Visiting scholar Sheikh Asim Al Hakim has said that the aim of the devil was to divide and conquer the Islamic nation.
Addressing the Friday prayer congregation at the Islamic Center, Sheikh said that the ideological differences and confusion were the cause of the divisions within Muslims and as such this was the preferred method used by the devil.
The Sheikh said that the companions of the Prophet were from different tribes, different races and ideologies but they had formed a strong bond based on islam and Islamic values. He added that today, Islam had proliferated all across the globe, irrespective of race, culture and ideologies, but that Islam had formed a uniting core for all these people.
He said that various attempts were made by the enemies of Islam, to create divisions within the Islamic nations, by use of divide and conquer principles. He added that this to an extent had been successful.
Sheikh further said that this was clearly demonstrated in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt and other similar nation, adding that the condition of these nations were dire and pitiful.
He urged Muslims to adhere to Islamic values, principles and Quran in combating the challenges of today. He added that all actions made by Muslims have to be carried out for Allah, even that of brotherly relations.
