The MOUs for the construction of two additional mosques had been signed today. The mosques will be constructed with the grant aid of Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
The mosque to be built in Dh. Meedhoo was tasked to SGT Construction and Trade Pvt Ltd. Once finished the mosque will accommodate 700 individuals and has to be finished in 250 days. The entire project is expected to cost MVR 6.9 million.
The mosque to be built in L. Maabaidhoo was tasked to Hamdh Maldives Pvt Ltd to be finished in 175 days. The project is expected to cost MVR 6.07 million and once finished will house 500 individuals.
Islamic Ministry said that the Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud’s investment into the mosques is expected to be around MVR 70 million.
