High court to announce verdict on Nazim on Tuesday
High Court has announced that a verdict on the appeal of the 11 year jail term on former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim will be carried out next Tuesday.

Nazim was sentenced for 11 years on terror charges after a pistol was recovered from his apartment. The Judge had said in today’s hearing that additional witnesses needed to be summoned to Court.
Anonymous witness statements of six SWAT team members were taken in today’s hearings.

Nazim’s lawyers had presented the witnesses to prove that he had been framed. There were several inconsistencies in the statements given to the court.

The witnesses said that Nazim’s apartment was searched, at the presence of his wife and that the members of the SWAT team had exited within a minute. Some witnesses had said that a bag had been entered into the apartment, while others said that no bags were registered. Some of the witnesses had denied knowledge that a weapon was taken into the room.

The hearing will be held in the 15th at 2pm.
