President sends message of sympathy to the President of Ivory Coast

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy ‎to the President of Ivory Coast, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, following terror attacks in hotels at the city of Grand-Bassam.

The President’s message reads as follows: ‎

“I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the terror attacks in hotels at the city of Grand-Bassam, causing the loss of many lives and grievous trauma to many. The Government and people of the Maldives condemn this cowardly act of terror in the strongest terms.”

“The Maldives remains strongly committed to the fight against the global menace of terrorism, and will continue to work closely with Ivory Coast and the international community as a whole in eliminating the scourge of terrorism.”

“The Government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying our deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Ivory Coast during this difficult time.”
