Like previous years, the Saudi government has donated 50 tonnes of dates to the Maldives.
During the ceremony held to mark the donation Yesterday afternoon, the Saudi government was represented by its Deputy Ambassador to Maldives Tharig Al Faiz.
Finance Minister Jihad represented the Maldivian government.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Saudi diplomat expressed hope that the dates would be distributed among the population as soon as possible.
Assuring of the Government’s plan to distribute the dates fairly and as early as possible, the Minister thanked the Saudi government for its continued support to the Maldives.
