Home Minister Umar Naseer has appealed all not to hold or attempt to hold activities that would block the roads.
Speaking to Miadhu, Home Minister Umar said Male’ is one of the smallest cities in the world and that the island cannot maintain traffic procedures.
Minister Umar said MDP had held their maahefun last night on the roads, after they had been informed by the Ministry that they could not do so.
“Police had informed the Party that they cannot block the road or hamper traffic,”
Minister Umar said that delays from Housing Ministry for a letter they submitted was not justification for them holding the maahefun on the road.
“A person could request for a flat, but does that mean the person can live in a flat that had been completed first?
Minister Umar appealed to political parties and other individuals to follow the laws and guidelines.
