Mohamed Jawaz, the officer who served in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Department and implicit in creating two IEDs on the orders of former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb, had not been freed but rather given a respite.
It has been confirmed to Miadhu that he was given a respite, not freed, as erroneously reported by some local media. He had been given the respite similar to that granted in other countries.
His issue had been raised as a core one as he had close knowledge of explosive making and could build another one.
