Sheikh Nimal Mohamed bin Rasheed has stated that no believing Muslim will bear the cross or any form of the cross, even if it was accorded to that individual with honors.
Speaking in the sermon held in the Traders Mosque after the Asr prayers, organized by Al-Kaun TV, Sheikh Nimal said that a Muslim soccer player had refused to wear a medal shaped like a cross awarded after his team won a match.
He said the soccer player was not a devout Muslim, but he had refused to wear the medal as he was fully aware of the consequences of such an act.
He added that the soccer player was deprived from honors that day but said the benefits and honors that awaited him and the respect that he gained outweighed that loss.
Nimal urged all to reflect and refrain from participating in activities that promote such aspects.
