Shabeeb Thaufeeq has won first place in religious story writing competition aimed at for adolescents organized by Islamic Ministry last year.
Shabeeb’s story was “Time with an Amazing Sheikh”.
Asma Aboobakr came in second with her story “Sister in law”, while Fathimath Sana Ali came in third with her story “Exemplary model”.
MVR 10,000 was given to Shabeeb, while MVR 7,500 and MVR 3,000 was given to second and third place winners respectively.
Dr. Sheela Ali’s book on education was chosen as the judges choice.
The purpose of the competition was to generate content that would serve as information and inspiration to adolescents and teach them Islamic values. The competition will also be held this year. The last date for submissions is August 31.
