Maldives Police Service has issued summons for former VP Jameel and Chairman of Rajje Tv Akram Kamaluddin.
Police said they had been unable to hand over the summons to Dr. Jameel as his residence was locked up. Akram’s family had refused to accept the summons, stating that he was not in the country.
Police said that they wanted to bring them in for questioning regarding some cases they were investigating. The official said that it included the case of making a fake court warrant to arrest President Yameen.
Dr. Jameel is currently the head of the opposition coalition. Former President Mohamed Nasheed had pledged to support him in the coalition.
Both Akram and Dr. Jameel are currently in UK.
