Maldives Broadcast Commission has requested to arrange an experience trip to Saudi Arabia.
The appeal was made in the meeting held with Saudi Ambassador Badr bin Ali Kahail and MBC members in a bid to develop the broadcasting sector.
MBC said the purpose of a trip was to gain lessons from Saudi broadcast sector and develop networks between the institutions.
Commission President Mohamed Shaheeb noted that trained personnel was the most important aspect for the sector. He presented a proposal detailing the planned training programs that could be conducted with Saudi assistance.
Shaheeb noted the various fields from which Saudi government provided assistance to the Maldives. He also briefed the work planned by the new Commission for the development of the country’s broadcast sector development and the challenges facing the country’s sector.
In today’s meeting Saudi Ambassador Badr bin Ali Al Kahail assured that the Embassy will work to assist the Commission in their proposal.
