Supreme Court rejects Nazim appeal
Supreme Court has rejected the appeal filed by former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim over the 11-year jail term on weapons possession charges.

The rejection came amid Police revelation that former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb’s DNA was found on the pistol discovered in Nazim’s home. The DNA report has been sent to Supreme Court by PG Office.

The letter sad the High Court verdict was carried out according to the legal and judicial means and therefore did not warrant a change to the verdict.

The rejection came after Nazim submitted additional new evidence.

Two hearings of the case had been held, with the defense noting many points.

The Supreme Court is the last legal avenue for Nazim and there will be no appeals after this. Nazim will only be able to get a reprieve only if the President issued a pardon.
