Former President and PPM President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom has stated that leasing islands without bidding was against PPM laws and urged all to reject such a vote.
He made the statement in a message sent to the members last night.
The message also said crating justice, equal access to natural resources and self-sufficiency for all citizens was one of the core aims of the party.
Former Home Minister Umar Naseer has also supported the motion to lease islands but on the basis of an open and transparent bid. He also said that he supported the former President’s views on the matter.
