Islamic University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated that the biggest issue facing islam was the lack of a media that supports islam and muslims.
He said that media working against islam and spreading misinformation on the religion was many, funded on a global basis.
Dr. Shaheem said Muslims should be able to respond to these false messages and that it was essential that a pro-media existed for Muslims. If Muslims were able to respond to these messages, then the prestige of Islam will rise. Dr. Shaheem said that this needed to be carried out urgently.
The most pro-Muslim media is Al-Jazeera. The Qatari run channel is now controlled by the US.
