H.E. Shri Akhilesh Mishra, High Commissioner of India met seven Maldivian students who have been awarded scholarships by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations for pursuing higher education in India. They will be admitted at universities in Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Kolkata.
At a function held at the Indian Cultural Centre, the nodal point for processing of educational scholarships, High Commissioner Mishra also interacted with the eight Maldivian Police Service personnel who have been selected to undergo training programme under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) scheme of the Government of India.
The scholarships under ICCR / ITEC comprise full sponsorship, return airfare and monthly allowances. The Government of India scholarships cover a wide range from Under-Graduate, Post-Graduation, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes in various disciplines. In addition to these scholarships, the Indian Government also offers medical slots at both Graduate and Post-Graduate levels to meritorious Maldivian students.
