Islamic Minister Dr. Ziyad Baqir has said the Ministry will conduct religious awareness programs will be held even after Ramadan.
Speaking to Miadhu, Dr. Ziyad said the President had appointed three religious scholars to carry out religious awareness programs in a sustainable manner. He said the three scholars were amongst the highest paid civil employees.
“Permanent scholars have always been appointed in Islamic nations. The work was carried out by Islamic Ministry officials and scholars. The three scholars will now do this in addition to this. This is the first time in the country such appointments were made. I thank the Government for this initiative,”
Dr. Ziyad said the religious awareness programs carried out this year were quite successful and positively received by the public, attributing this to the change in the ihya programs. he also said the outreach program carried out this Ramadan will be carried out as it was another successful one.
He also said religious awareness programs were carried out in Addu City and Fuvahmulah in addition to Male’, using scholars and groups from the region.
