Indian Naval Service Suneyna has arrived in the Maldives this morning. MNDF said the trip was part of the surveillance effort on the Maldivian sea territory carried out in collaboration with MNDF Coast Guard.
The joint service patrol is part of the regular patrols carried out in the region. The surveillance will check if any illegal activities were carried out in the Maldivian sea territory.
Major General JKS Parikkar or Indian army’s training division met Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam today. The two had discussed developing military ties and developing human resources in Senahiya Hospital run by MNDF.
Directorate of Operations and Training’s Principle Director Colonel Hamid Shafeeq and MNDF Medical Service’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Shahid Mohamed attended the meeting.
INS Suneyna will depart Maldives on July 18.
