President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has ratified the fourth amendment to the “Civil Service Act” (Act No. 5/2007). The amendment was passed by the Parliament at the 8th sitting of its second session, on 18th July 2016.
Following ratification, the Act has been published in the Government Gazette.
The act enables the Civil Service Commission to appoint Permanent Secretaries according to the Ministers approval.
