Ooredoo today revealed strategic partnerships with STELCO, STO, ROL, Medianet, Foodhub and Schawk Cinema for m-Faisaa - its mobile money services in the Maldives. Under this partnership, customers will be able to make payments to these companies using their mobile phones, via m-Faisaa. This service is already live for Medianet and ROL, and will soon be available for the remaining partners.
The company announced these value enhancing partnerships during tonight’s launch of m-Faisaa campaign. As an introductory offer to m-Faisaa customers, Ooredoo offers 25% bonus on prepaid recharge via m-Faisaa. Customers will also enjoy 5% discount when using m-Faisaa for postpaid bill payments.

m-Faisa is an “e-wallet” or a virtual account on a mobile phone, through which people can easily manage financial transactions. Customers can easily deposit cash to their m-Faisa accounts, or withdraw money from any Ooredoo Experience Center or m-Faisa Agent, available across the country. The service also allows for the transfer of funds, through which customers can send money to their family in a different island. Customers can also easily pay merchants such as online and food delivery services, café’s, or a cab driver without the need for physical cash.
With the official launch of m-Faisa, customers have been given the added convenience of paying their bills from wherever they are, through their mobile phone. This includes prepaid recharges and postpaid bill payments to Ooredoo, as well as utility payments. For instance, customers can easily pay their electricity bill to STELCO via m-Faisa, from the comfort of home or during a busy day at the office.
