STO has signed up as the main sponsors of FAM’s Minivan Championship Tournament. This is the second year the tournament will be held targeted at the atolls.
STO Managing Director Ahmed Shaheer said that a major component of STO’s CSR aimed at creating and nurturing talent in sporting fields. He said promising footballers can be created from holding competitive tournaments at an atoll level and exposing young players to a larger platform. He added that this was a huge boost to the country’s football.
FAM said the tournament will begin tomorrow evening in Th. Thimarafushi. The tournament will be held in all atolls except for AA atoll. 75 matches and 220 players will compete in the tournament.
FAM thanked STO for their sponsorship of the tournament which will be played until end of October.
