Guraidhoo Center water works project assigned
Health Ministry has tasked water works and road reconstruction project of the Guraidhoo Center for Special Needs Persons to partners.

Speaking to press after the signing ceremony, Health Minister Abdullah Nazim said that there were 20 Presidential pledges made by President. He said today’s two agreements were two pledges out of these.

He said that once the first agreement came into fruition the Center will have the capabilities to safely store 80000 liters of water. The Minister Nazim said this project cost around MVR 1 million.

He said the road pavement and reconstruction will allow easy wheelchair access and mobility. This project cost around MVR 1.4 million and is to be completed in 55 days.

Nazim said in 2013, the Center was in severe disrepair, adding that ceiling and bathrooms of the first floor are currently underway.

The Minister said the nation’s health sector was of utmost priority to the President, especially the care of differently abled and disabled individuals.
